Aftercare For Microblading

Microblading is high on the list of must-have treatments when it comes to keeping on-trend with making sure our eyebrows are looking perfect. However, microblading post-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your brows, so we have a look at how to take care of them.

Microblading Aftercare

Do not let any water, lotions, soaps, or makeup come in contact with your eyebrow area during the first seven days after the procedure. Wash your face as you would normally, but carefully around the eyebrow, avoiding getting the treated area wet. During the shower, keep your face away from the showerhead or take a bath.

Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post-procedure. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and cause patchy results or scarring. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.

After 4 days, make sure your hands are completely clean and gently apply the post-care ointment with a cotton swab and clean hands. This can be done twice a day, at night time and morning time, but be sure to use the ointment sparingly as your skin needs to heal itself. Please continue to apply the ointment for 7 days.

For the first two weeks after the procedure, make sure you avoid activities that bring on increased sweating, sports, swimming, jacuzzis, saunas and hot baths, tanning (either salon or in the sun), and exposure to UV/UVA rays.

Laser and chemical treatments or peelings are best avoided also. Resist the urge to pick, peel, or scratch the treated area as they form scabs. It is best not to touch the eyebrow area, except for rinsing and applying any post-care creams with a cotton swab.

If you do encounter any excess redness, swelling, tenderness, or any discharge from the treated area, then see a doctor immediately.
